I really dig the word versatility. For one, it’s a fun word to say. For two, if it’s an adjective that can be applied to a cooking appliance, I am all about it.
When West Bend Kitchen Appliances gave me an opportunity to give their 6 Qt. Oval Versatility™ Slow Cooker, I was pretty stoked. I love a meal that lends itself to slow cooking, like my Guinness beef stew.
This slow cooker is the perfect size for a crowd, or dinner with leftovers for lunch the next day if it’s just Brian and me. It holds a whole chicken or ham, so it’s made its appearance just in time for a perfect Easter meal.
It’s really quite spectacular how you can move the cooker itself from its base to the oven, the fridge, the freezer.. (remember that buzz word versatility?) Because the pot is stand-alone with a griddle base, you’re not dealing with cumbersome ceramic bowls that reach the temperature of the sun and can’t be removed for days. The handles are like real handles, not just indentations formed into ceramic that are hard to get a grip on even when they aren’t the temperature of the sun.
And yes, I did say “griddle base”. That means that you really get two appliances in one here – a slow cooker and a plug in mini griddle with which to cook all your favorite breakfast foods; eggs, bacon, pancakes, OR the perfect grilled cheese to serve along side a steaming bowl of that Guinness stew. Oh and did I mention this hot little number is dishwasher safe? My favorite two word combination ever!

Dang, I don’t think I’ve seen one you can do so much with. Very nice! Another thing from their website I’d like is the Smoothie AutoServe II. Since I got a yogurt incubator this summer I’ve been making smoothies pretty much every day, and this would be great!

I really like the Electric Indoor Grill. Living in an apartment with no balcony leaves me with no chance to have a real grill, so this would be a nice alternative.

I love this slow cooker! I am all about meals in the slow cooker! I would also like to have, and I am torn on these two items, either the High-rise rotary waffle maker or the smoothie express lifestyle! I love having waffles in the morning, but sadly since I don’t have a waffle maker, I get my waffle fix from Eggos. And the smoothie maker would be lovely since I love smoothies, but since I have moved I have not found a decent smoothie place at my new location.
I am slow cooking veggie chili as I type! It’s not even my crock pot, it’s my roommates, which is why it would be great to win this item. I love to slow cook. The meats always turn out so tender and the veggies are always so tasty.

This slow cooker would be amazing…I love West Bend products. Most of my old slow cookers are West Bends. Of their other products, I would love to have the IT-400 Ice Tea Maker with the glass pitcher! I make tea almost daily and the (other brand) tea maker I have has a plastic pitcher and they just don’t seem to hold up and stay nice looking. Honestly, the 6 Qt slow cooker sounds amazing, I’ve been wanting a slow cooker for quite a while now because I love how easy they are to use and I LOVE entertaining so it’s perfect for making bigger batches of food.
Otherwise, I would really enjoy the 6111 – Electric Indoor Grill. This would be perfect for those cold winter nights that I don’t feel like bundling up just to run outside to the grill and flip some veggies or meat! Instead i can cook that same meal inside where it’s warm, and be able to keep the food warm after it’s done cooking too. Sounds like a win-win situation to me

But I honestly could really use the slow cooker as ours just broke. It was a Westbend, we got it for a wedding gift. That was 35 years ago. AND the reason it broke….. someone ( my husband ) dropped it on the floor

I’m really interested in Wes Bend’s Canister Ice Cream Maker b/c I’m now on a diet that actually allows ice cream (Somersizing) but I have to make it myself with SomerSweet to make sure it’s full-fat and sugar free so I need to get me an ice cream maker! I like the Canister one b/c I don’t want to have to buy salt and ice to make it.

I would use the 10 cup rice cooker from West Bend every day! You can do so much more than rice…steaming veg and other foods, or making overnight oatmeal…how useful!!

I want the enamel popcorn bowls (large and small). Currently I have one that is very similar, but the enamel is chipping away from constant use. I just know that one day I will have to get ride of it, but I love my popcorn bowl. So I need the one from West Bend along with the smaller bowls so I can share with my son and husband more often. I love my popcorn!
I would love to try the Hi-Rise Breadmaker. There’s something wrong with our oven, and it’s a little difficult to make bread that cooks evenly when all you can use is the convection broiler.

Just one?! Oh my…. I guess it’d have to be the Stir Crazy Theater Popper. My family enjoys movie night at home; it’s much more economical and most movies look better on our 52″ HDTV. They have a combo on their website: a set of 4 Mini Cocottes with Bonus Cookbook that looks amazing!

I’m all about the 76630 – Smoothie AutoServe II. I have a smoothie addiction and hate when I can’t get to the last bits at the bottom of the cup! This totally solves that problem.
The Grill & Panini Press (6113) would be a nice addition to my kitchen – nothing beats a gooey grilled cheese sandwich or panini that’s evenly cooked on both sides – my frying pan skills aren’t the best as distractions are non-stop while I’m trying to cook. A melted muenster and roasted turkey with roasted red peppers and pesto would really hit the spot.

It’s not a plug-in appliance, but the 35C Water Bath Canner would be amazing! I want to start canning and tried my hand at making Apple Butter with a friend’s canning equipment. And it was amazing, but I need to get my own canner!

OMG! I have a son heading to college in the fall and the 4 Slice Egg & Muffin Toaster would be a fabulous thing to get for him. This way he could have at least breakfast would be good and it has enough space for him and his roommate.
