I don’t know what the weather is like near you, but it is BLAZIN’ hot here in Ohio. Like you don’t even want to go outside hot.

While Ohio is definitely no stranger to the summer heat, it’s been in the 90’s for what seems like weeks.

And when you happen to have a husband that is most comfortable with a thermostat set to 75 during the day, flipping on the oven to make a cheesecake might just not my best choice.

No-bake nutella cheesecake recipe

We can never have too many no-bake recipes, right?

I hope you agree, because I sure do love making recipes like this No-Bake Nutella Cheesecake recipe.

Why do I love no-bake cheesecake recipes so much?

  • They’re quick and easy – you can even whip them up on a weeknight
  • They don’t require me to turn on the oven in the middle of summer
  • There are so many variations you can make!

This version combines my love affair with no-bake and my love affair with all things Nutella.

The first time I made No-Bake Nutella Cheesecakes, I whipped them up from ingredients I happened to have on hand in my pantry and fridge. I almost always have a jar of Nutella, a package of Oreos, cream cheese, and frozen whipped topping hanging around.

Between the fluffy Nutella filling and the chocolatey Oreo crust, these cheesecakes are pretty much impossible to resist. I like to top them with extra whipped topping and some chocolate shavings just before serving.

Can I use whipped cream instead of whipped topping?

I know not everyone is a fan of frozen whipped topping and some of you might want to use homemade whipped cream in this recipe instead.

Whipped topping has stabilizers in it that help it hold up when folded into recipes like this one. Since whipped cream does not have any stabilizers in it, I can’t promise that it will hold up as well while the cheesecakes chill before serving.

There are some recipes for making stabilized whipped cream at home, but I personally have not tried using the homemade stuff in my no-bake cheesecake recipes.

Can I make this recipe into one large cheesecake?

I like to make this recipe into individual No-Bake Nutella Cheesecakes by putting them into small serving dishes. Depending on the size dishes I use, I usually get 4-6 servings.

You could even make the servings even smaller for a party by putting them into shot glasses.

But you can also make this into one big cheesecake by putting it into an 8-inch pie plate instead of the individual dishes.

More summer no-bake cheesecake recipes

It’s really hard to beat no-bake cheesecake during the summer. While I love this Nutella version, there are many other summery flavors you can incorporate into a no-bake cheesecake! Check out these recipes for some more options.

Light and fluffy Nutella filling tops a sweet Oreo cookie crust in these easy and delicious No-Bake Nutella Cheesecakes. If you love the combination of chocolate and hazelnuts, this recipe is for you!

Ingredients

  • 12 Oreo Cookies crushed into crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • cup Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces frozen whipped topping thawed
  • whipped topping optional
  • chocolate shavings optional
  • toasted chopped hazelnuts, optional

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, stir together the Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Evenly divide the crumbs between your individual serving dishes and press into the bottoms of the dishes to form a crust layer.
  • In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and Nutella until smooth. Add vanilla and mix to combine. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the whipped topping until well blended and no streaks remain.
  • Evenly pipe or spoon the filling into individual serving dishes. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • If desired, garnish with additional whipped topping, chocolate shavings, and/or toasted, chopped hazelnuts.

What a great idea! I modified it for my dietary sensitivities and used non-dairy cream cheese, homemade coconut cream whip and wheat free cookies for the crust. We’ll see how it goes…it was surprisingly easy to make, big plus! Thank you, what a lovely sweet treat. :)

  2. Dave says:

You make a wonderful Grilled Cheese and the chili was incredible. You forgot to mention however, Brian even while he was “dieting” ate two of em. Delicious!! Good Job!

  3. Ashley says:

What is frozen whipped topping? Is this like cool whip but you freeze it and then thaw it?? Or do you make whipping cream and freeze it?

    1. Jamie says:

      Ashely-
Yep, just Cool Whip. It comes frozen, so you’ll have to let it thaw in the refrigerator per the directions on the container. Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by.

These look incredible and I’m thinking about making them for a Bridal Shower. How far in advance do you think I could make them? Is the day before okay?

  5. Erica says:

I can’t wait to try these. QUESTION: do you scrape out the OREO filling before you crush them? Or do you just crush the cookie as a whole?
    Thanks!

My oh my! this is just heavenly and no bake! my kind of recipe :)

  7. Paula B. says:

Oh my! Somehow I missed this in my reader yesterday but like a comment before mine, I haven’t even had breakfast yet craving this. I, too, want to make it into a pie size or larger, can’t have enough Nutella. What a great idea, maybe this will be our “super” dessert when the girls get together during the afternoon for cards and board games before the real game begins.

  8. Irina says:

OMG! This looks heavenly, I’m definitely going to make it! Thanks for sharing :)

  9. Mercia Corrigan says:

What is frozen whipped topping? It is not available in South Africa. What should I use as a substitute?

    1. Jamie says:

      Mercia-
Frozen whipped topping is sold under the name of Cool Whip here in the US. Some readers have opted to use real whipped cream in this recipe, but since I have not tried this route, I cannot provide you with exact measurements. Hope this helps.

Can I whip my own cream & use that instead? I don’t think Australia has whipped topping. Unless you mean something that’s like frozen soft serves they have an McDonalds.

    3. Kassie says:

      Jessica-
If you are unable to get COOL WHIP use this recipe:

1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream
      1 teaspoon vanilla extract
      3 tablespoons confectioners (powdered) sugar
      1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
      1 tablespoon water

(be sure you chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer beforehand)

1- beat heavy cream on medium/high till it starts to thicken
2- add sugar and vanilla and beat until soft peaks form
3- in a small saucepan mix gelatin and water and heat on low till mixture is melted together (a minute or so) and remove from heat. Let it cool slightly.
4- mix into whipped cream until stiff peaks form
5- use 3 cups to mix into nutella mixture.
(3 cups of whipped cream is about how much is in a small 8oz tub of COOL WHIP).
      Hope this helps!!

HI. i made these yesterday… they were just lovely. i made it with freshly whipped cream as we don’t get the whipped topping here, it was perfect. i also added a few chocolate chips and topped it with a strawberry. i love this recipe, will make it whenever i need a quick chocolate fix.

    1. Tammy says:

Yay! I am in Australia & can’t get whipped topping either so was unsure of what to use. Thanks for that, will make it now!

    2. Michele says:

Use good old fashioned whipped cream, tammy. I whipped up 8 oz. of heavy cream and folded it in. The taste will be much more natural than with the frozen whipped topping.
