I’m hoping everyone is as excited as I am for Halloween! The porch is decked out with orange lights, skull candles, fake spider webs, and the steps are lined with pumpkins and gourds in varying shapes and sizes. My dog Olive has her skeleton costume ready (and currently is being baked her SECOND batch of Pumpkin Dog Treats).
So, what’s missing? Trick-or-Treat candy…check. Spooky decorations…check. Costumes…check. How about a delicious, festive cocktail for the adults? We have to remember that halloween isn’t just for the kiddos. We need our treats as much as they do.
I love a classic White Russian, and after years of bartending, it seems like most people do. For a fun twist on that classic cocktail, I’ve come up with a Pumpkin Pie White Russian. It tastes like pumpkin pie with whipped cream, (no joke) and even has a dash of Pumpkin Pie Spice for good measure.
So if you’re looking for a scary-good cocktail to share with your guests at your monster bash or just looking to get in the halloween spirit while passing out candy, here is the perfect drink to serve from now through Christmas!

Pumpkin Pie Cocktail
Yield: 1 delicious cocktail
A festive twist on the classic White Russian.
1 oz Pumpkin Spice Kahlua
1 oz Whipped Cream Flavored Vodka (substitute vanilla vodka if you can't find Whipped)
1 Tbsp Pumpkin Puree
1/2-3/4 cup Milk or Dairy Free Milk, depending on personal preference (I used unsweetened unflavored almond milk)
Pumpkin Pie Spice (for garnish)
Measure liquors, milk, pumpkin puree, and a few ice cubes into a martini shaker. Give it a good couple shakes. The pumpkin puree will dissolve into the drink!
Pour into a rocks glass and garnish with a sprinkle with a pinch of Pumpkin Pie Spice Enjoy!
*If using non-dairy milk, stick to unsweetened, the liquors are pre-sweetened and extra sugar may be overload.
*If you can't find Pumpkin Spice Kahlua, regular Kahlua or similar coffee-liquor can be substituted. Just add a pinch of Pumpkin Pie Spice to the mixture before you shake it!
