If there’s one thing I know for sure, my relationship with coffee over the past year has deepened and become a full on love affair. I didn’t understand the big deal about coffee before. Turns out, I just wasn’t drinking good coffee. I get it now.

Recently, Le Creuset released the Cafe Collection. Immediately I was drawn in by the beautiful Truffle color (it’s also offered in Cherry and Marseille), but there’s much more brawn behind the beauty.

Let’s start with the French Press. If you’ve never had coffee from a French Press, it’s certainly an experience. A Sunday morning, savor the day kind of experience. Steep coarsely ground coffee beans in boiling water in the press, then plunge the mesh sieve through the press.

The resulting coffee has a deep, strong, clear flavor because of the direct contact between the water and the beans. But did you know, you can even steep loose tea leaves in a French Press too?

I will admit, the OCD in me went into overdrive since the Cafe Collection includes not only the French Press but matching espresso cups, saucers, coffee storage jars, cream and sugar sets, and even teaspoons. It’s a matchy-matchy person’s dream.

It’s nothing you wouldn’t expect from Le Creuset, one of the world’s best makers of stoneware. Each piece is made with high quality exterior enamel to protect against metal marks and damage, and they’re resistant to staining and flavor absorbtion (important when coffee is involved).

They’re also dishwasher safe – bonus!

I certainly felt like a world class entertainer presenting our friends with French pressed coffee and matching cups and spoons last weekend on my favorite serving tray (okay, it’s from Ikea.. don’t judge!).
