Day 4 of our Father’s Day giveaways is very near and dear to my heart. I mentioned in the Peugeot Baltaz Corkscrew giveaway that Peugeot was kind enough to also give us a pepper mill to give away in our Father’s Day celebrations.

My dad and I, we have a true and unmovable love of pepper. I’ve made no secret on MBA that I love hot food. Pepper, spice, heat – whatever you want to call it, I want my dinner to have some real KICK. And that’s a trait I got directly from dear old Dad.

The man would season chocolate cake with pepper if he could – and now that I think about it.. I’m not sure he hasn’t! An important part of imparting pepper to food is using freshly cracked pepper. If you use the stuff that’s already been ground, sure, you get a little kick (and maybe a sneeze), but to get the real bite, you have to crack the pepper as you add it to food.

That’s where a good pepper mill comes in. There are tons of pepper mills on the market, in every shape and size. But for my money, I’ve never used a pepper mill I liked more than the Peugeot Classic Paris u’select Pepper Mill in Chocolate. For one, it’s a beautiful color and made from solid Beech wood. But more importantly, this pepper mill is made by a company that’s been making pepper mills since the 1842. The grind is perfect, and easily adjustable to your size preference. Peugeot knows what it’s talking about when it comes to pepper mills.

If I were going to go out and buy my dad a pepper mill at Williams Sonoma, it would be this one.

One lucky MBA reader will receive the Peugeot Classic Paris u’select Pepper Mill in Chocolate!

My Dad and I shared many happy moments picking apart steamed lobsters and drenching our sweet morsels with warm, melted butter – wish he was here today.

My dad would hands down want to cook (for himself) salmon on a cedar plank on the barbecue this Father’s Day!

My dad was the smartest man I’ve ever known. Funny, wise, dry wit, quiet but with always the perfect words at the right time. His favorite treat was Lemon Meringue Pie. I made him one every Father’s Day.I’m making one in his honor today.

My Dad is pretty open-minded when it comes to culinary world, but we both love sitting down late in the evening and eating home-made vanilla ice-cream with coffee liquor. It’s _our_ moment, because my Mom, who loves to cook and eat, is often on a no-ice0crem diet, so we have the entire container for ourselves :)

My dad really isn’t all that picky when it comes to food. He tries everything. But his one of his favorites is a good steak on the grill. He recently got a new grill, and its essentially his new ‘baby’. Last time he made steak he went on for at least 15 MINUTES on how good they were, and how perfectly seared the outside was and kept the juices inside.

My fondest memory of my dad is watching football (soccer) with my dad while he smokes a cigarette.. Or going shopping with him, for his clothes and going into the changing room with him.. Good times
