Delicate, crumbly almond crescent cookies are coated with powdered sugar for a perfect balance of sweet and buttery.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine melted butter, egg yolk, powdered sugar, and salt.


Add 5 cups flour and mix for 15 minutes. Add almond meal and almond extract and mix for 15 more minutes.


Shape dough into crescents and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.


Bake 13-14 minutes, until outsides are dry and bottoms are set. Rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.


Coat each cookie in powdered sugar. Cool on a wire rack, then give a second coating of powdered sugar.
