This coffee-shop-inspired brown sugar syrup is a richly flavored simple syrup that can be added to coffee, tea, and cocktails.

Bring water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks to a boil, stirring often.


Simmer until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.


Remove cinnamon sticks and stir in vanilla. Pour into a jar and store in the refrigerator.


Add to coffee, tea, or cocktails for a rich, molasses-y sweetness!
