Enjoy this fall favorite all year long! when you learn how to can your homemade apple butter!

Make a batch of homemade apple butter. While it is still hot, get your clean canning supplies ready.

1

Bring a large stock pot or canning pot of water to a boil and set clean jars and lids out on a clean kitchen towel.

2

Dunk the jars in the hot water and empty them. This warms them through to prevent cracking. Set them back on the towel.

3

Fill the jars with the hot apple butter. Leave at least 1/4 inch of space at the top of the jar. Use a skewer to remove air bubbles.

4

Wipe rims clean and put on lids and rings finger tight. Use a jar lifter to place cans in the boiling water.

5

Cover and boil for time needed for your size of jars. Turn off heat; let rest 5 minutes, then remove cans to a kitchen towel.

6

Let jars rest on towel for 24 hours. Check seals; label and store for up to 18 months.
