Frosted Ginger Cookies

These soft and chewy ginger cookies are topped with a sweet and simple buttercream frosting. The perfect holiday cookie!

Challenge Unsalted Butter light brown sugar granulated sugar powdered sugar unsulphured molasses egg vanilla flour baking soda ground cinnamon ground ginger milk

Use a mixer to combine the wet ingredients, then add the dry. Chill for at least 2 hours.


Make the batter

Roll the dough into balls and roll each ball in granulated sugar. Place on a lined baking sheet.


Shape the dough

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then move to a rack to cool completely.


Bake and cool

Spread buttercream frosting on each cookie and top with coarse sugar for a bit of sparkle.
