Thumbprint cookies are a classic! Buttery, a bit crumbly, and filled with your favorite jam, they're perfect for any cookie platter!

raspberry preserves (or your favorite jam flavor)
Cream butter + sugar; add egg, vanilla, salt, then flour until just combined.

Roll dough into 1-tablespoon balls. Place on a lined baking sheet.

Use your thumb, a wooden spoon handle, or rounded measuring spoon to make indents in each ball.
Fill each indentation with 1/2 teaspoon of the jam or preserves.

Bake 14-16 minutes. Let cool completely before serving.
