Tart Cherry Pie

Made with fresh or frozen sour cherries, this tart cherry pie is a classic summer dessert that's easy to make!

In a pot, add sour cherries, water, lemon juice, sugar and cornstarch. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla and almond extracts. Let cool.

Line a 9-inch pie plate with pie crust. Add the tart cherry pie filling.

Cover the pie with the top crust. Crimp and seal; cut slits for venting. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake in the lower 1/3 of your oven at 425F for 15 min. Reduce heat to 350F and bake 40-45 min more. Let pie cool before slicing. Enjoy!
