FAQ

Hi there, thanks for checking out my FAQ page. I get a lot of emails asking a variety of questions. Here is a compilation of some of the most popular questions and my answers! If you have a question that is not answered here, feel free to contact me.

What type of camera do you use?
I used a Canon Rebel XSI until April of 2011. I currently shoot with a Canon 7d and love it more than words can express.

What lenses do you use in your food photography?
I mainly use my Canon 50mm f/1.4 and my Canon 60mm f/2.8 (this is a macro lens).

Did you take classes to learn how to use your camera?
I took one lesson at a local camera store. This essentially taught me how to turn on the camera. Seriously, it was a waste of $40. My advice? Read your manual and take loads of pictures.

Are all the pictures on your site yours?
Yep, they are all mine.

Do you edit your photos?
I use Lightroom 3, Photo Shop Elements and CS4 to edit my photos. I try to use a light hand while editing and try my best take photos that look good straight out of the camera.

Where did you get your _____________?

Where did you get the wooden plank you use in your photos?
The chocolate wooden table top is from Ikea. The weathered piece is old fencing from a horse farm. We simply cut it to size and screwed it into a base.

Can I use one of your photos on my site?
Send me an email, more than likely I will be totally cool with it. Just. Ask. First.

Why did you start My Baking Addiction?
I teach school and was extremely bored one summer. I thought a blog would be a great way to burn up some time, help strengthen my photography skills and help keep track of all the recipes made in my kitchen. Things have definitely blossomed in two years and I am so thankful to all of you that continue to read My Baking Addiction. If I could send all of you a cupcake, I would!

How do you have time to blog?
Lots of caffeine and minimal sleep. I typically write posts when the mood strikes; I’m pretty good about stepping away from the computer if I get a case of writer’s block!

How often do you bake?
Usually about twice a week, sometimes less…sometimes more.

What do you do with all your baked goods?
Let’s just say we have well-fed neighbors, co-workers & family.

Who developed your blog?
My site was developed by the lovely Barb Kiebel of Kinetic Webs. Barb is also a food blogger at Vino Luci Style and was fabulous to work with. If you are thinking about a new look or simply wanting to move your site to Word Press, Barb is fabulous and I highly recommend her work!

Who does your graphic design work?
