I’ve mentioned numerous times that I am not much of drinker. After about an ounce of liquor, I get all flushed and start talking way too much. However, even though I’m not a huge fan of getting my drink on – my friends are.

My BFF, Brittani turns 35 tomorrow, so I teamed up with a group of friends to throw her a surprise party last weekend. At some point during the party planning, someone mentioned pudding shots, but the task was never really delegated to anyone in particular. And since I’m a crazy overachiever, I decided to add them to my party to-do list on top of Greek Pasta Salad, Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes, and Queso Blanco.

While strolling through Kroger, I came across mini, plastic shot glasses and spoons in the paper plate aisle. I’ve only had pudding/jello shots a couple of times since I typically refrain from awkward eating situations that force you to use your mouth to remove jiggly things from little cups, so I thought the spoons were quite genius!

When thinking of flavor combinations, I thought S’mores Pudding Shots would be perfect for our casual, outdoor party – plus, I had half a bottle of Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka that we haven’t touched since I made S’mores Truffles.

Pudding shots couldn’t be easier and they can be dressed up as seen in the photographs, or simply piped into mini plastic cups for a casual backyard barbeque. Chocolate pudding mix combines with milk, Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka and Cool Whip to create a fun, simple and boozy sweet treat that’s sure to be the hit at any party.

Regardless of how you serve this adult spin on the campfire classic, make sure you let your guests know that they contain alcohol – because they’re so incredibly delicious one could easily overindulge.

S'mores Pudding Shots

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka
  • 8 ounces extra Cool Whip
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Marshmallow Fluff
  • 1 Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until thick and smooth. Add in the vodka whisking until the mixture is free of lumps and well-combined. Fold in the Cool Whip and mix until no white streaks are visible. Set Aside.
  2. Spoon 1 1/2 teaspoons of graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of each mini cordial glass.
  3. Place the pudding mixture into a piping bag fitted with a round tip such as the Wilton 1A or simply snip the corner of a zip top bag. Pipe the pudding mixture using a swirl motion into each glass stopping about 1/2 inch before the rim of glass.
  4. Spoon or pipe (I used a medium French tip) the Marshmallow Fluff directly onto the pudding mixture. If desired, use a kitchen torch to carefully brown the Marshmallow Fluff and garnish with a piece of the Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar.

Notes:

  • Mini Cordial Glasses are from Pier 1 Imports, the spoons are from Ikea.
  • Using the Mini Cordial Glasses seen above will yield 8-10 servings.
  • If you want to yield more servings, I would suggest using smaller shot glasses such as these plastic ones. By using the 1.75 ounce glasses, you'll end up with about 20 shots. I picked mine up from Kroger in the paper plate aisle.

The marshmallow fluffed vodka seems to be discontinued. Would the whipped vodka work?

    1. Jamie says:

      Kim-
I think that would be totally fine. Even vanilla vodka would work.I hope you enjoy them.

Jamie, these shots look phenomenal. They’re perfect for my 6 months pregnant self who can’t indulge in the “other” kind of shots at the moment. Love how super simple the recipe is but how fancy the final product looks. I might give it a try at my son’s upcoming birthday party. Sharing all around. Thanks so much for the recipe!

I made these and they were AWESOME!!! I made them in my long, stemless wine glasses. I added a little more graham cracker crumbs between the layers of chocolate pudding. My husband put the final touch on the marshmellow fluff with his favorite kitchen toy…the torch!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I made these for my friends party and everybody simply loved them, but most of them had one criticism and it was the gram cracker crumbs at the bottom. So when my friends wanted to through a party again i knew i had to make this again with some changes; so instead of the gram cracker crumbs make some brownies and use a circle shaped cookie cutter to shape the brownies then just cut them as thick or as thin as you want them to put into the bottom of the glass, since your using clear cups i thought it would better to add layers to it, for presentation, so i added in layers as such, brownie, thin layer of vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, and then the chocolate pudding mixture until at rim then you add the marshmallow vodka on top with the Hershey chocolate piece. Everyone at the party ate all of them, i even made a triple batch at fear of this. After the party i was getting great comments from everyone leaving and once everyone left i looked over at the desert table and everyone else’s deserts were basically untouched i was amazed that so many people loved them so much but shouldn’t be surprised because it started off from a great recipe. :)

    Hi!
I want to make these…is there really something called ‘fluffed marshmallow vodka’ or do you mix 1/2 cup vodka in the jar of marshmallow fluff? You’ll probably get a chuckle out of my question!

    Best,
    Renae M.

      Renae,

The vodka is actually marshmallow flavored, and it’s fairly popular so your local liquor store will probably carry it! Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for following MBA!

The idea is fantastic, specially well after dinner, a nice warm drink before heading home. (Also love the idea for “brown wedding themes” to tie with the colours). A must for ‘Winter weddings” and for other many…. who wouldn’t love a hot sweet shot? Love it already.

I love this! Can they be made in advance??

    1. Ariel says:

Stephanie, Did you ever find out if they can be done in advance? Wondering the same thing.

  9. Michelle says:

Has anyone used the smores vodka for this instead of the marshmallow vodka ?

    1. MBA says:

      Michelle-
I have not tried this; however, if you do, stop back and let us know how it is. Thanks and have a great day!

We made these for my mom’s birthday party, and they were a HUGE hit! We toasted a bunch of large marshmallows in the broiler to pop in the tops of the shot glasses.
Thanks so much for this recipe!
