I have a secret. I’m addicted to a lot of things – not just baking. From nail polish and lip gloss to shoes and home decor, I pretty much have issues.

I love when people share their “must-have” have products in blog posts and on YouTube, so I thought I’d start a new series on MBA that focuses on my current favorites for a variety of topics. Some will definitely be baking/cooking related, but most of them will be random things that I’ve purchased, used and fallen in love with.

As the weather warms up, I find myself drawn to bolder nail polish colors, so I thought I’d share my must have products for at home manicures and pedicures.

I hope you enjoy this new series and I encourage you to feed into my shopping obsession by telling me about all of your favorite things in the comment section below!

What are your favorite at home manicure essentials?

1. Essie First Base | 2. Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat | 3. Diamancel Flexible Nail File | 4. Sally Hansen Insta Gel Strips | 5. Essie Turks and Caicos | 6. Essie Peach Daiquiri | 7. Essie Ballet Slippers | 8. Essie Bachelorette Bash | 9. Soap and Glory Hand Food

Loving the “favorites” list, it’s always great to have positive feedback before buying new items. I have also had good luck with a polish drying product called: Out the Door!

Jamie, I love this! Please continue and do more posts like this…and about anything! My favorite home mani is ummm…actually my hubs! While we watch tv at night, he files and pampers my feet so they are always high heel ready! Plus, I do my own french tips on my toes…just did them this morning! hmm, maybe I’ll instagram them today! (hehe) (=

I too love the Essie products, and I use their “Grow Faster,” and the “All in One” base/top coat products, too! Have recently fallen in love with Essie’s “Mademoiselle” and “Limo-scene.” They are VERY forgiving for those of us with busy hands in the kitchen! As for
Seche Vite…well, since I discovered this product it has meant smudge-free home manis for me! It is the BEST product I’ve found for truly drying the polish down through each layer!

Loving this commentary, and it’s always fun to get “word of mouth” (even if it’s WRITTEN, not spoken) regarding the “girly” things of life. Keep it up! Jolene

    Nice list!

I’ve worn one coat of Essie’s “Waltz” followed by one coat of “Ballet Slippers” for years – almost looks like a French manicure.

With Ballet Slipper, do you ever have trouble with getting transparent patches at the base of your nails? I bought a bottle a while ago after reading rave reviews, but when I used it on my fingernails, that was definitely the case (which can be an issue with sheer polishes). I tried using a ridge-filling base coat because it’s tinted, but it didn’t help. I love Essie polishes but seem to have better luck with OPI sheers, at least so far. So I’d love any tips!

    3. Jamie says:

      Emilie-
Hi! It’s definitely a sheer polish – I typically apply two coats, but I have never noticed patches at the base of my nails. Which OPI Sheers are you loving – I’d love some recs! Thanks so much for stopping by – have a great day!

If you like the Sally Hansen nail gels, then try SesatioNail by Nailene!! It works better and last longer. I LOVE THE STUFF!! It’s also less expensive than Sally Hansen…
