Homemade Oatmeal with Cashews and Honey
Cozy up with delicious, homemade oatmeal with cashew butter, cashews, cranberries and honey.
I’ve never really been one to eat breakfast on a regular basis. Even as a kid, I’d scoff at the home-cooked, hot breakfasts that my mom would make for my brother. Sure, I’ll indulge in the occasional stack of Pumpkin Pancakes, but certainly not at 7:00AM, as I’m running out the door. Personally, I’d rather hit the snooze button 18 million times instead of noshing on a hot breakfast before work.
Since becoming pregnant, the whole not eating breakfast thing is no longer an option. This girl is hungry in the mornings, okay sometimes beyond hungry, so it’s been necessary for us to keep a variety of healthy breakfast options available. And since Eric is pretty much the best guy on the planet, he cooks me breakfast every morning so I can still hit the snooze button. I’m telling you, he’s a master at Egg In a Hole – my current fave!
I’ve teamed up with Jif to Mix-Up Mealtime with their new nut butters. This Homemade Oatmeal with Cashews and Honey has quickly become one of my faves. It’s a cozy, Fall breakfast full of cashews, dried cranberries, Jif Cashew Butter, and honey, that keeps me full until my mid morning snack.
Tips for Mixing Up Mealtime
– Have a variety of breakfast recipes in your arsenal – quick and easy for those busy weekday mornings – like this Homemade Oatmeal with Cashews and Honey and Pumpkin Pie Granola. And a bit more involved recipes for those lazy Sundays like Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls.
– Get your family in on the planning and cooking action. Get their recipe input and then put them to work in the kitchen – you’re sure to make some amazing memories.
– Scan store shelves for exciting new products like no-stir nut butters from Jif. They’re delicious and a great alternative to peanut butter on everything from toast to apples.
