It’s no secret that I love a good fruit dip.

They’re pretty much everything you could want in a recipe: quick and easy, delicious, and versatile enough to serve as a snack or a simple dessert.

They’re also GREAT for taking to parties. Tailgates, cookouts, bridal showers—they’re all immediately better when there’s a fruit dip.

My cream cheese fruit dip has always been a big favorite around here, and so is my nutella fruit dip. But I wanted to come up with one that was a little bit lighter, a bit less sweet, and perfect for summer.

And that’s how this yogurt fruit dip was born!

Quick and easy greek yogurt fruit dip

If you’re the kind of person who loves yogurt with granola for breakfast or if yogurt popsicles or chocolate frozen yogurt are totally your vibe, you’re gonna love this yogurt fruit dip.

You only need 3 ingredients for this dip: just greek yogurt, cool whip, and fresh berries. The cool whip gives the dip a light, fluffy texture and subtle sweetness, while the yogurt gives it a tangy flavor.

Mix this together in a matter of minutes, let it chill in the fridge for a bit, and you’ve got a dip that makes a great afternoon snack or simple summer dessert.

This is the kind of recipe I know I’ll be whipping up all summer long for the kids to enjoy after they get out of the pool!

(Psst! If you like this recipe, you’ll also enjoy my strawberry popsicles!)

How to make my yogurt fruit dip

This recipe is seriously so easy.

You’ll need a few simple ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups strawberry greek yogurt
  • 8 ounces thawed whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries
Ingredients for yogurt fruit dip arranged on a countertop.

Obviously I went for a strawberry vibe with this yogurt dip, but check out the “recipe variations” section for some more flavor suggestions.

Greek yogurt is a bit thicker than regular yogurt, so it’s my preference for using in this recipe. I like the Dannon Light and Fit yogurt, but feel free to use your favorite.

Just make sure you don’t buy plain yogurt. Since we aren’t adding any other sweeteners, we do need the slight sweetness of the flavored yogurt in this dip.

Cool whip is the whipped topping that I like best, but you can also use TruWhip. If you don’t want to use whipped topping, you could use stabilized whipped cream instead.

To make the dip, simply mix together the yogurt and the cool whip. Use a spatula to fold in the diced strawberries.

Cover the dip and refrigerate it for about 30 minutes before serving.

Serving suggestions

This yogurt fruit dip is delicious with fresh fruit. Strawberries, sliced apples, grapes, pineapple, and even sliced bananas are all great choices. Whatever you family’s favorite fruit is, it’ll go great with this dip.

But don’t stop at fresh fruit! Graham crackers, vanilla wafter cookies, chocolate wafer cookies, or even animal crackers are all great options, too.

You could even cut up cubes of cream cheese pound cake or whipping cream cake to use as dippers.

Recipe variations

I love using strawberry yogurt and fresh strawberries to make this yogurt fruit dip, but that’s not your only option!

Feel free to use your favorite flavor of greek yogurt, such as raspberry, peach, mixed berry, honey, or vanilla. Fold in the corresponding fresh fruit (fresh raspberries, diced peaches, etc) or skip it altogether.

I like that this dip isn’t very sweet, but you can always stir in a bit of honey or maple syrup if you’d like a bit more sweetness.

For a dairy-free version, use your favorite dairy-free yogurt and dairy-free whipped topping.

Storing yogurt dip

Store this yogurt fruit dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

If you want to freeze the dip, I recommend freezing it before you fold in the fresh strawberries. Freeze in an airtight container for up to a month; thaw overnight in the refrigerator.

Before serving, stir well and fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
