If you’ve been reading MBA for a while, you know that if I had to pick between a lemon dessert (like my favorite lemon bars) or a chocolate dessert, I’m usually going to pick the lemon.

But every now and then I get a chocolate craving that I just can’t kick and I need something ultra rich and chocolatey.

When you’ve been blogging and creating recipes for as long as I have (almost 20 years now!), you end up with quite a collection of chocolate dessert recipes. So today I’m sharing a handful of my favorites, perfect for every season of the year!

Baking with chocolate

Chocolate is such an incredible ingredient. From chocolate chips to cocoa powder, there’s just so much you can do with it.

For recipes that call for cocoa powder, be sure to pay attention to the type of cocoa powder called for in the recipe. I have a helpful cocoa powder guide that walks you through the main types and their differences if you aren’t already familiar.

One of my favorite chocolate dessert tricks is chocolate ganache. It is SO easy to make but is incredibly versatile. You can use it as a topping or sauce, filling, and even frosting.

If you’re craving rich chocolate cake, be sure to check out my perfect chocolate buttercream. It’s also fantastic on yellow cake, strawberry cupcakes, or even funfetti cupcakes.
